When it comes to your reception, it is the party part of the wedding day. It’s when guests get to drink, eat and dance the night away. When you think about it, a wedding is a marriage followed by a big party with family and friends.
Because, like almost all weddings, your family and friends don’t all fit into a specific demographic or age group it’s important to consider the music that will keep them having a great time and dancing the night away.
As much as the day IS about you, it’s also about how well you keep your guests entertained. There is nothing worse than everyone leaving early after all the planning and money you have spent to celebrate this day. From our experience, guests WILL leave if they are not having a good time.
One of the main elements that people experience a good time from is the music. If they are hearing nothing but song after song in one genre or too many unfamiliar tunes they will not only not bother dancing, they will get bored and leave!
Creating the Right Music Mix for Everyone
When choosing music for your wedding, be mindful to ensure you allow us the freedom to cater to ALL your guests, not just one demographic. A mix of music from all types of genres and from across the decades gives you a much better chance of having a successful night where your guests are disappointed the night is over and just want to keep the party going.
Having said that, we are of course happy to tailor the music to lean more into your preferred style and songs, but don’t recommend sticking to just one style all night. Whilst we encourage you to share with us a lot of your favourite songs, please don’t expect us to stick exclusively to a set playlist as our years of experience has taught us this rarely works and we have to forego playing a lot of great songs that would have really worked well.
